What if we got good at being ourselves?
What if we changed the world by being “professional” (insert your name here)’s?
What if becoming wholer versions of ourselves was the very thing that had the power to change things?
What if one of the hardest things to ever do was to face ourselves and our pains?
What if we spent time helping ourselves and others to find courage to fight for themselves?

Lift every voice and sing,
till earth and heaven ring,
Ring with the harmonies of liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the listening skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of the faith that the
dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us;
facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
let us march on till victory is won.
Stony the road we trod,
bitter the chastening rod,
felt in the days when hope unborn had died;
yet with a steady beat,
have not our weary feet
come to the place
for which our fathers died?
We have come over a way that with tears have been watered,
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered,
out from the gloomy past,
till now we stand at last
where the white gleam
of our bright star is cast.
God of our weary years,
God of our silent tears,
thou who hast brought us thus far on the way;
thou who hast by thy might led us into the light,
keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met thee;
lest our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget thee,
shadowed beneath thy hand,
may we forever stand,
true to our God,
true to our native land.

How do you ride the tidal wave of anger?
…and still love …and still have your self respect and be yourself and everything else that comes with this turbulent emotion…
Operation anger management is in full effect.
I’ll report back when this season is done.

6:46pm I looked out my window and know I am where I am supposed to be.

"Surrendering oneself to God is a more developed kind of consent. Transformation is completely God’s work. We can’t do anything to make it happen. We can only prevent it from happening.”…
…”For Christians personal union with Christ is the way to come to divine union. The love of God will take care of the rest of the journey. Christian practice aims first at dismantling the false self. It is the work that God seems to require of us as proof of our sincerity. Then He will take our purification in hand, bring our deep-rooted selfishness into clear focus, and invite us to relinquish it. If we agree, He takes it away and replaces it with the dispositions of His own mind and heart through the fruits and gifts of the Spirit.”
Everyone has a story. What’s life if the only story on your shelf is your own?
Listening, my friend, is the art of an avid reader.
